Mistrale aims at providing soil moisture content information to farmers and water managers. It will be an on-demand service to monitor areas. Upon ordering, MISTRALE make a soil moisture content map using a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) with a GNSS-R measurement device. Besides soil moisture maps, Mistrale can also produce maps of water logging, flooding extent and other soil moisture related information products.

In this project the consortium will optimise the technology and make it ready for roll-out.

In Mistrale different project partners work together. STARLAB provide the front end of the GNSS-R instrument. The back and is delivered by M3Systems this part also implementing EGNOS for GNSS integrity. GET is analysing the user needs, and the requirements as input for the scientific processing. L'Avion Jaune is doing the test flights and demonstration. The development of the RPAS is the experience of ENAC. AeroVision is responsible for the dissemination and the advisory board.
